About the portfolios: According to the rule, people who deliver the portfolio with delay will have points reduction. It also says that portolfios with more than 4 days delay won't be received. The last chance is: You ca bring it today, but I will discount 2 additional points. Bring it tomorrow and I won't receive it at all.

About the grades: I am checking your tests right now. The order in which the marks will appear in the system is this:

1º: Exam 1 - 15%
2º: Entensive Reading Exam 15%
3º: Portfolio - 15%
4º: Exam 3 - 20%
5º: Classwork and homework - 10%
6º: Texts, quizzes and oral presentations - 25%

There aren't any are only 2 grades in the system, yet. But soon there will be more.

Dear All:

I am writing this message to find a solution for a problem with an instruction in the last exam.

Some of you may have noticed that in the essay section we could read "Write one paragraph only." It was wrong because it contradicts with the rule; you may also remember that to write an essay you necessarily need to write introduction body and conclusion in different paragraphs. It's not possible to leave that section invalid because it was the core of the evaluation. I think the responsability is shared, so I am ginving you some alternatives here.

But there are some solutions:

Solution 1: Come to my office and take a look at your exam. Tell me where the introductiory and the body paragraphs finish. Just come and mark it. That way, I can ignore that you wrote one paragraph only.

Solution 2: If you feel that the wrong instruction reallt harmed your essay, come and take the essay part again, on Thursday morning. If you're taking this option, let me know by email so I know if I need a classroom or only the office.

If you don't come, it'll be very difficult to check your essay. So please come.

I decided to post this message so as to clear out doubts that may appear.

Add my personal mail and you can communicate with me through messenger. (you know it... juanchamorroarenas.. etc)

- Q1: Is it true that the turning in date has been put off?
- A: Yes, it's true. You can turn it until Monday 18th, midday.

- Q2: Can I give you my essay? I forgot to do it. (Tuesday 12th)
- A: No, you can't now. Many people did it today, and will have reduction in the score.

- Q3: When can you give us our material back, to include it in the portfolio?
- A: I'll be there on Wednesday and Thursday, from 9:00 to 10:00. Then I'll be very busy.

-Q4: [for Parallel A, only] Teacher, someone told me that we had to give the last exam again because there was a mistake in an item. Is it true?
- A: It's partly true. There was "conflictive information" that may have wrongly guided you to write the essay with the wrong number of paragraph. I am offering an alternative to fix it, to the people who missundertood that instruction. I'll be in the office this week, from 9 to 10 on Wednesday and Thursday, so you tell me when you preffer to take that part again. If you wrote three paragraphs, you don't need to take it. Anyway, I'll be available in case you want to come to discuss other issues.
